I find the subject matter to be quite moving (I don't usually feel that way about landscapes) - thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. My only quibble is with the tree at the left in the foreground, and what's happening behind it: it seems a bit confusing (but that may be because of the smallness of the image I'm viewing on my computer)

You are a Hawk Eye, painting is not finished, You are right about tree and left wall, also needs some light on the roof tiles, but it will be never finished, it is already gifted! In fact, very few oil paintings ever are finished, I am just chemist but I am sure about that! As a self thought painter I just try to make painting alive, to make it talk, sometimes there is no success! Some paintings I hide, in order to forget them and be able to recognize mistakes after a few months... Or to apply some new idea... Sometimes I rearange some old scratches of student times (it was really long ago)!

In fact, We know nothing about real facts and feelings in life of great (today) artists! We can only imagine, may be put it in our time... People are always the same! Real starving is not danger in this part of the World, but there are many kinds of starving...
