Let me say that as a combat vet, USMC Vietnam to Desert Storm, i find this very meaningful as it applies to all who serve on every side. The only real winners in a war are those who survive it regardless of the political rhetoric.

After the Clone Wars and the foundation of the Republic the Clones were gradually left to wither on the vine. It's due to the fact they were see themselves as guardians of the Republic rather than that of the Empire, whose ranks, I believe, are made up largely of human conscripts.
