for a contest over at #minishizzle for to make a vampire hunter. i went with a sherpa hunter, who guides people through the mountains and guards them from wayward vampyvampires.super fun working with not-pixels.

Yay, tools! It's nice to know that you're enjoying tool shading...it shows in your work. I love the darkness of this one, how it looks almost like she's walking out at night.

i approach 'tooling' like an oil pastel drawing. i do the same thing with black in drawings. i just can't get enough of it.
the initial sketching and blocking takes me so long though, i dunno how often i'll tool.

Same as me! I use a technique similar to oil pastel...that's rather ironic. My style is now more like a oil pastel/crayon technique. But still, it's very similar.
Yeah, that part of tooling is very tedious and time consuming, hence why lately I haven't done much dolling.

yeah, i feel ya. kinda lose steam if it's not going anywhere quickly, if there was steam to be had at any point. i'm thankful that this contest sparked some interest in me. doing some visual art was nice after all the writing i've been doing.
