This is what's known as a "Scent rub". Basically the wolf has scent glands on his or her cheeks, and they rub on you to get your smell on them, and their scent on you. It's kind of like a hand shake, a kiss, and an exchange of clothing all in one.Notice his ears are back, which is a sign of submission. It is an intentional dulling of his senses, his ability to defend himself, for me. He's saying, "I love you, bro."
Also, big wolf is big.

Thank you kindly. It was not always easy, some times it was downright scary. You have to really be in love with the wolf to do this. I got poo on me, and pee, been growled at, even bitten. Wolves are lightning fast predators, and their minds never fully shut off. But when they adopt you, and let you into their hearts, you never forget it. It is a one in a million experience.
