Part 2 for"I am a storyteller with two books out in the world at present; the first, entitled The Bride of Chaos,
takes place in the city-state of Cyanzalon, which is ruled by eight
great Clans, each with their own peculiar traditions, which I thought
might be reflected in their heraldic arms.

I take pride in trying to follow the demands as best as I can, and with a nice visual effect. 
(I do not follow traditional heraldic rules though, more like Rules of Art, Cool and Symbolism)

Clan Sardonyx is arguably the richest noble family in Cyanzalon--the present Queen is a Sardonyx by birth, which gives the Clan a good deal of influence; they have a virtual monopoly over the trade with the southern kingdoms, by means of their fleet of barges going up and down the mighty River Ismour. A respectable, law-abiding Clan, the Sardonyx tend to get on well with everyone...except for the obnoxious Garzillians!
