This is a tribute piece to Robin Williams, who passed away last week. It features the Genie entering the Gates of Heaven, and he is greeted by the Sultan, who was originally voiced by the late Douglas Seale. The quote that I used can be heard at the end of the credits on Disney's Aladdin. This tribute piece will be among the many that are being submitted by other DeviantArtists to the Disney Club's Tribute to Robin Williams Collaboration.Aladdin is my favorite Disney films, and it is safe to say that Robin Williams really made that movie into the hit that it became. There will never be another person like him with his sense of comedic timing and his style of improvising that almost seemed like it was scripted. Aside from his acting and comedy, he was a great human being.

The quote that you used has been heard at the end of the credits of Aladdin since the 2004 Platinum Edition DVD release. You can hear that on the international Blu-ray, too.

Wow, Robin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014) and Douglas Seale (October 28, 1913 - June 13, 1999), two actors who passed Away.
At least the Genie was played by Dan Castellaneta. And the Sultan was played by Val Bettin on the sequels and the TV series until it was off the air. And now, Jeff Bennitt does the voice of him.

I need to stop torturing myself over this...these beautiful tributes just keep opening the hurt back up. Did you cry when you heard the news? I didn't at first, too in shock about it, and held off until I could have my tears in private.
I hadn't cried so much since I lost my old friend Ari to stomach cancer, and I never knew Robin personally.
But I didn't need to, Robin was my idol, my inspiration for my outlook on life and my sense of humor, both light-hearted and dark, able to find the humor in even the most cruel circumstances, which Robin showed was possible in Good Morning Vietnam.
I grew up with his stand-up, his roles in movies, and follow many of his philosophies to the point that given any situation, I can turn it into a joke.
So I cried, and still cry whenever I know that he will never grace the world with his gifts and his wonderful existence again.
Won't stop me from watching all the movies he's been in, or watching his stand-up again, because even though he's gone, he still makes me laugh

I was too late to know him (not personally, though) when I was alive. I found Aladdin and watched it for the first time not long ago, on the Diamond Edition. When the news was given to me that the voice of the Genie was dead, I felt my heart just break in half.

Yeah, I was too shocked to cry. It wasn't until I watched Disney's Aladdin a couple of days later, might have been the next day actually, but I cried when Aladdin sets the Genie free. I never cried at that moment of the movie before, but now...that scene has a whole different meaning. Then I cried after I finished this tribute to Robin Williams. I think that I was holding off my emotions until I finished, and then they came flooding out.
He will be missed, but he left a great legacy for us to remember him.

Fave! When I was a kid, my favorite movie was Aladdin. Robin Williams may be gone, but to me & along with many, he will always be the ever impressive, the long-contained, the often imitated, but never duplicated Genie of the Lamp. "I'm free..."
