Description Elves(Anthromimus formosus) are a sapient primate species from Arcadia, well known for their almost humanlike appearance and beauty.

While they resembled humans, there are several features that make them different enough that they often cross the "uncanny valley" for humans. The blue coloration of their skin is caused by the Tyndall effect, which is the scattering of light by the skin itself, instead of a pigment. Their legs are digitigrade, an adaptation for high speed running, with each foot ending in three toes and cushioned by a fatty pad, reminiscent to that of a theropod. Their ears are long and pointed, lined with touch sensitive nerves, which serve as erogenous zones.

The males, on average, are often taller and physically stronger than the females. They are also naturally inclined to be protective towards them. Females, on the other hand, are naturally empathetic towards males, even in adulthood. This amicable relationship between the sexes, led to the shared belief in all elf cultures, that male and female need another and would suffer without the other.

Elves mate for life and have analogues to marriage in their culture. Elf families are very similar to that of human nuclear families. The males provide for the family, while the females are the heads of the the house. Sometimes several families group together into tightly knit clans. Clans are matriarchal, with the lead females making the clan decisions while their husbands serve as both bodyguards and personal advisors.

The elves are found all across Arcadia, but they not a homogeneous whole. Different cultures arose throughout millennia, long before humans arrived. Some were nomadic pastoralists, migrating from region to region, with herds of livestock. Others sail the seas surrounding Arcadia, in large boats. Further inland, some cultures revolve around riding horses across open fields. Other cultures were medieval in their technology level and are proud scholar and warrior cultures.

When humans first colonized Arcadia, the elves were among the sapient species to encounter them. Some encounters were friendly, others are more hostile. Such hostile encounters resulted in skirmishes to full blown wars. Due to the females' beauty, many were kidnapped and taken to be sold, as sex slaves, by early human settlers. This angered the males, to the point that, in order to protect their mothers, wives, sisters and daughters, they formed a multispecies alliance to fight back against the human slavers. Overtime, this alliance got caught up in one of the bloodiest wars in recorded history, known as the "Never Ending War," a war were the Seven Human Nations all fought for complete control over the continent. And the elves, alongside the other sapient species in their alliance, were forced to fight as well, if only to survive.

In time, after the war ended, humans and elves made peace and started building up towards an mutual alliance. Some elves would trade with human merchants, exchanging for some of human's more advanced technology. Other elves were even able to integrate into human societies as honorary citizens, even taking jobs similar to humans. Males joined the military, farming or construction work and females took the roles of teachers, caretakers and therapists. Although humans and elves are mostly on friendly terms, at the present day, elf sex slave trading is still prominent in underground districts, despite it being outlawed by Arcadia's seven nations.

There have been attempts, by many humans to get into romantic relationships with elves. Unfortunately, these attempts would all end in failure, as elves, despite having many physical characteristics that humans find attractive, find humans rather "plain looking" by comparison, lacking the pointed ears and bluish skin that is considered attractive to their species. It is also impossible for humans and elves to interbreed. Many elves try and turn these humans' advances down gently as they'd rather view them as their honorary brothers and sisters.
