Description

Man this was not easy, making transforming-capable body armor and form essentially, and you pretty much never get it right at the first time. Far as I know that is the thrill of designing Transformers characters to me, no matter how many times you can fail, this one actually felt like a lost cause before something clicked.

She transforms into a Rathian, a flying wyvern of the Monster Hunter games.

I really like the Rathian, its a simple but effective design and quite pretty, being the most successful and widespread predator of the world, the Raths are like lions in a world of dinosaurs but they make it work and it makes sense considering their capabilities and adaptability.

"Rarcee" as my friend put it when we designed her,

I planned her right down to how she fights in both forms and how she transforms.

mainly the membranous wings form from her legs, and the arms form the talons and legs.

Her arms like most post movie designs will probably be able to form blasters that fire heat based projectiles like the other Predacons of Prime, but the claws can also be extended and be used for melee combat, alongside the spikes and claws across her robot form though for sake of reason they would just be puncturing capable but not venomous, that'll just be her talons.

And I had the idea she could shed some of her collar quills to be used as throwing knives, the tail is mostly vestigial though, like she's wearing a skirt, its not long enough to be used like a club but it can assist in shooting quills.

These capabilities are more pronounced with the beast mode.

She would be doubled the size like Predaking, their bot forms unlike the usual transformers are more akin to defensive modes, compressed and resistant to damage with power that can be directed more percisely, meanwhile the beast is the forms they are born with and more comfortable in fighting in.

Her heat based blasters would be replaced by explosive fireballs.

The small quills replaced by larger more venomous quills that when pressed can be detached but are mostly supposed to remain for defense.

And her armor would be covering her whole body in beast mode, as befitting her infraorder of the "Armor Shell Wyvern" so like she would be nearly immune to regular blaster bolts and energon blades would barely cut through the shell.

Like imagine fighting a Pink or Gold Rathian for that type of skill and power that something beyond a smart predator, something with a human mind behind it.

The kicker with her transformation is that I had the idea her Rathian head will form from her lower stomach and abdomen, meanwhile the spiked tail forms from her upper torso with that fur collar and her spinal cord and the rest of the torso much like most dinobots I would assume to be outside of G1.

This is a fan thing and so I feel liberated to make that transformation a little more saucy with hints of body horror. Cause that was unintentionally true with how Beast Wars handled transformation. But the main concept is that in bot form she is literally turning her dragon-self inside out.

It's one thing when its a car or dinosaur, they have very blunt and simple designs.

But the Rathian has subtle bird and mammalian characteristics.

So I think I found some compromise there.

Been thinking of showing her in a comic of some sort so i can depict the transforming.

I have been inspired by the new Predator movie.

Like imagine early humans encountering her, considering Shockwave sent clones of Predacons to Earth and some other planets they seeded Energon with.
