Because they change them, Rusty was a kittypet (house cat) so his name was Rusty when he joined the clan he was given a clan name: Firepaw then he trained as an apprentice, then when they become warriors they have different endings, like Fireheart or Greystripe then leaders names end in star and Fireheart became leader ^^
