Description "...You led them into one glorious charge after another, and these mountains have been covered in blood since your arrival..."

I guess, not many expected to see Casavir fan art from me, eh? Surprise!

Another one in my unplanned 'fancy portraits' series

Yeah, red cloak makes him look like a Roman legionary. But red and grey always go well together. And I wanted him to be a bit on Cadey's colour palette because... well, just because

I like the overland map of Storms of Zehir. I wish the following games used that interactive map.

I didn't know it is Casavir, I just thought: finally a knight with an interesting facial expression who looks a little older. I hope you take this as a compliment.

MadOldHag In reply to TheWildGrape [2011-09-10 06:44:01 +0000 UTC]

You know that I have an issue with knights. I hate those stereotype all-too-knightly knights, but when they have a true personality they can be interesting. I also like elder, mature characters (which means 35+), because they have more of a past and more experience than a twenty-year-old hero (when extremely young characters always act wisely and know everything already without any hint on where they learned all this stuff I find it somewhat ridiculous).

TheWildGrape In reply to MadOldHag [2011-09-10 06:49:44 +0000 UTC]

I'm with you here
though, I remember when I was an early teen, i honeslty thought that twenty is already old enough to be wise and know everything (and over-thirty people are something close to 'senile') - until I turned twenty and realized I still don't know a crap

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MadOldHag In reply to TheWildGrape [2011-09-10 07:25:30 +0000 UTC]

I also think elder characters are underrated. Who says they have to be senile and ugly? I really loved Keldorn from Baldur's Gate 2.

I am glad that you see it similarly. Yes, as a teenager I thought thirty was old, not to mention forty or fifty. You sometimes see it in other people's deviations and forum comments: at thirty you are old, at forty you are senile, at fifty you are dead. Most age memes stop at 25, if they go further people either leave everything above 30, draw a tombstone or the character looks the same at 50 than at 30. My own characters might have some master skills at twenty (thanks to early training and a certain talent for those particular skills), but wise? No way, it's rather the other way around: I make them act like teenagers at mature age, I think this is called midlife crisis. My characters who are in their early to mid twenties still are somewhat naive which has something to do with the way they grew up. Enough babbling.

I am glad to see something different. There are enough teenage superheroes and all too knightly knights out there already.
