Another quick sketch from a screen shot. The photo didn't pick up the lights and darks as well as my scanner usually does, but I don't have access to a scanner this week.Legolas, from Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (I think)

Very nice! Good detail on the bow. My only main critique would be that I'd like a bit more of a firm outline for the head and hair, cuz it seems to blend in with the background a bit. Not too difficult a problem. Other than that, it's very nice!

Yeah I didn't want a bold outline because I was worried it would look too cartoony. Do you know how to do that? Maybe add more highlights to the outer lines, like a halo-type of thing? Do you think that if I darkened the background it would make the picture too gloomy?

I wouldn't darken the background any if it were me. I agree with the bold outline being a bit cartoony... maybe if the edge was darkened a bit, and the hair by the edge was shaded a tad, but just a little so it would quickly fade into the regular hair shading. But very little darking on both. How do you think that would work? I'm not really a pro over here

I see what you mean; even though the screen shot was very light, I could imagine in some shadow around the edges. Thanks for your input!
