Makes me think of the Senior Citizen project. Very cool.

Nice plane. Those engines look pretty powerful, maybe for supersonic speeds. Also looks a little heavy, so I guess trying to take her for a joyride is unadvisable.

I like it! A stealth transport is a excellent idea.

NICE! Can it have Close-range-support functionality?

High-altitude, low opening drops.

You know you have troops a few too many places you aren't supposed to when someone decides to design a plane just for it.

damn that's a fast looking aircraft looks like it doing Mach 2 while it sitting still.

Heh. It's subsonic, Mach 0.9.

ah thanks, so it picks up electronic signals from potential treats?

I think about usage it for landing and navigation without external electronic system, VOR/NDB or ILS.

sound like something that would be very useful for fliying in extreme conditions.

Yeah, extreme conditions, off-airport landing, at hidden usage, behind enemy line

very cool, but could it be tracked back to the aircraft?

Passive mode, without any radiations

lastbullet2 In reply to TheXHS [2013-04-14 10:09:58 +0000 UTC]

awesome a bit like radar?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheXHS In reply to lastbullet2 [2013-04-14 10:24:04 +0000 UTC]

In active mode - yes, optical "radar" (same, that installed on Su-27 or Mig-29), but in passive mode - more like to TV-camera (IR and UV included) or highly upgraded eyes)

CKyHC [2013-04-13 22:59:04 +0000 UTC]

а есть смысл в таком камуфляже?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheXHS In reply to CKyHC [2013-04-13 23:04:11 +0000 UTC]

Does it have any sort of STOL capability? Those flaps almost look like they're blown flaps.

I really like the little EO turret in front of the cockpit, BTW

TheXHS In reply to cthelmax [2013-04-13 23:01:39 +0000 UTC]

Yes, STOL included
Blown flaps (heh, before I read your comment, I didn't knew, that this called "blown flaps" on english, only russian term "закрылки с сдувом погранслоя" - we studied this feature at aerodynamics lectures, and I knew about its usage at Mig-21 and Su-15)
Also I think about TVC, besides flaps.

cthelmax In reply to TheXHS [2013-04-13 23:13:32 +0000 UTC]

The example I always remember was the Bristol Buccaneer, which had blowing on just about everything - flaps, wing and tailplane.

Looking at the size of the wings vs the engines, it looks like one fast little transport

Hey, isn't that based on that Speed Agile concept?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheXHS In reply to RDFAF [2013-04-13 22:32:17 +0000 UTC]

Yes, some influence of Speed Agile exist)))
But i want light aircraft, with 5..7 tonnes of payload.
