It's actually spelt "dethi", with a capital i at the end(cause it's a giant eyeball)

I believe it to be more like an original name instead of play of words... in oficial media its wrote with an "l" instead of a capital "I", if what you say its true, then they should have used a capital "I" that can be distinguished from a lowercase "l".

Well, the japanese name is ใในใขใค, which means "Death Eye".

Actually, according to the official Shogakukan guide for the original Game Boy release, his Japanese name is ใทใฃใใผ, translated means *Shadow*. The Japanese never called him ใในใขใค/Death Eye because that's NOA's given title to DethI, someone on the Internet probably transliterated his English name in Japanese and then posted it.

this resembles this boss very well - although he is a cheater. You should be able to kill him in one hit if you hit him with the boomerang in the eye - it didn't work when I tried it 3 days ago >.<
