Mayo / Mai / MayFifth of the twelve original illustrations for my 2009 calendar
Took the idea from ~maryfer0512 who participated in my contest with her entry about Venezuela.
Curious fact: did you know that Venezuela was named in honor of Venice? (Venezziola= little Venice in italian)

Funny how the forehead "disappears" under those wisps and doesn't continue; and yet it doesn't harm the overall appearance of the drawing at all.
And I had no idea about the origin of the "Venezuela"-name! Fascinating how these things come about. Is Venezuela anything like Venice? I mean, it's not canalized like Venice is, is it?

These kind of things don't do harm. In the "worst case" you're gonna start a new style where teenagers all discard anatomy in an attempt to "draw like thiefoworld"!
