Description I wanted to create a kind of 'Mad Max' style image, a scene that could take place in a post-apocalyptic world.

As usual, posed and set up in Daz Studio. Materials tweaking, lighting and rendering in Octane Render.
I used a mix of Daylight and a HDRI map for lighting and pathtracing kernel. Postwork in Gimp for mixing the two renders, compositing the sky, resizing and signature.

Thanks for viewing and taking time to leave a comment.
Have a great time.

Many thanks too for your comments and favs on my previous image.

Coalition [2015-03-18 15:41:25 +0000 UTC]

The deserts were some of the few areas safe from the alien ecology, as there was no biomass or water to feed its growth. As a result, human raiders that were looting the cities would use the deserts to observe their target, and as an escape path afterward. The ecology critters would pursue them for a mile or so, then turn back.

But there was a new growth occurring along the edge. Samples taken had shown it to be a type of moss that used silicon as an organic solar cell, and could survive the desert climate. It was the same here as it had been elsewhere, the ecology would find a way.

For the two women here, it meant their free-wheeling days were soon to get a lot more difficult. But in the meantime, they had a city to loot, critters to kill, and a night to celebrate being alive. They only had one sleeping bag, but that was all they needed.

i dint know you can hdri and sunlight at same time. nice

ThierryCravatte In reply to GIOVANNI-PALUMBO [2013-05-23 17:35:56 +0000 UTC]

You can't have HDRI and Sunlight at the same time. I've done one render with a HDRI and another with the sunlight then I blended them with Gimp.

GIOVANNI-PALUMBO In reply to ThierryCravatte [2013-05-24 00:50:13 +0000 UTC]

ahh thanks for the future tip.
just learning and feel out of place in octane.
but to me this will give me reason to leave vue now
and use octane and daz.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ThierryCravatte In reply to GIOVANNI-PALUMBO [2013-05-24 07:17:04 +0000 UTC]

Don't be afraid, Given your level in vue, you'll soon fell 'at home' in Octane too ! But I think you shouldn't completely leave vue, maybe you could use Vue and Octane in a complemetary way ...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

GIOVANNI-PALUMBO In reply to ThierryCravatte [2013-05-24 16:07:36 +0000 UTC]

well i still will use vue for the oceon and eco system , no match for those things vue is the best.
but lately vue is upgrading to often and the price now seams to be geting out of reach for normal people.
so i keep old vue 10 and continue with octane and daz. to me the level octane can achieve is good enough.
long live octane

In my mind...Why does it seem like Alice from REsident Evil is being awaited for arrival into this scene?
The sense that something of importance will arrive is immanent.
Good work again.

You have a great alternate interpretation. My idea was more a couple of smugglers or traffikers waiting for their customer or partner to make a deal. But your idea is excellent !

The lighting in this scene works well and I like the poses used for the characters - great work.

There's an awful amount of sci-fi scenes that are quite dark and gritty, so this is quite refreshing given the lighting that's used.

the site madmaxmovies.com is a great source. go to the discussion forums as people have either snunk pictures or some of the production crew have shots up of some of the vehicles.

This is phenomenal. Everything looks so perfect from the lights to the sand on the wheels. One of the things I have always enjoyed in your renders is the way you capture a sense of scale. So many renders feel claustrophobic, but you seem to create a world. Fantastic pic.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. I try to give a bit of 'context' to my characters, to give a feeling of the 'universe' he's living in.
