This matchup can be summed up in 4 words: This was my childhood.
I was a huge car fanatic growing up. Fast & Furious and Need for Speed were fun, but nothing could match the fantasy that came with Speed Racer and Hot Wheels. I lived on the original animations these two appeared in when I was a kid, and when Acceleracers and the live-action Speed Racer movie were announced, and that Speed Racer was getting released as a Hot Wheels series, my good mood was unshakeable.
I recently managed to get ahold of the Acceleracers Deora 2, and a while ago I bought an old Hot Wheels Mach 5 that was exclusively released in Japan, and seeing those two side-by-side on my shelf never fails to bring a smile to my face.
