I remember seeing this picture years ago and now I have finally found it once again.
It's simply wonderful and I always wanted to draw something even remotely just as good. I do not believe I will ever manage to shade like this though... Love it!

The shading is wicked awesome, but you probably should have flipped it since Gene's cheek scars are on the left cheek, not the right. Otherwise, it's fabulous!
