Why didn't Amadeus and Rosemary Prower ever have any more children? The parents of the other Freedom Fighters I get:Jules is a robot, so that leaves Bernadette up a creak without a paddle.
Antoine's mother is deceased and presumably so are Bunnie's and Amy's.
I'm not even going to try and guess what happened to Dulcy's parents.
Considering what Alicia and Maximillian Acorn have been through I wouldn't be surprised if they were both sterile.
But Tails' parents look young and healthy, and as far as they knew for the 10+ years they were away on the Bem home world their son was either dead or roboticized and they were never going to see him again even if he wasn't, so why didn't they just try again? It'd be a cute twist, seeing some innocent wide-eyed youngster idolize Tails the way he used to idolize Sonic.
So I thought I'd design a little sister for Tails for the fun of it. In Sonic X style, for some reason... I've settled on Erika "Fidget" Prower for a name. Erika after History's top fighter ace, Erich Hartmann . Fidget is both a reference to her timid nature and an aeronautical term, it stands for "Interference of enemy high frequency night-fighter transmissions."
... How they got fidget from that I'll never know, but okay.
Fidget: "And I know you'll think of a way to save us, 'cause you're the smartest thing alive!"

I have many friends who remain only children their whole lives. Some parents just prefer to only have one, and the parents/child usually are pretty happy (at least the few I know)

Maybe because they were too busy to think about children again and/or they were too mournful over Tails to think about "trying again"?
I'd think that if they weren't in the spirits to have more children, then they wouldn't do so. I actually had a teacher who lost three children, and she and her husband didn't try again after they lost them.
I don't know. I can make many theories as to why they didn't have any more fox kits, and I can appreciate the fact they kept it as Tails being their only child.
But either way, I see what you're saying and the design of this little sibling does look cute.

The idea of Tails having a literal younger sister is quite appealing and endearing in her character development presented here. It's refreshing to see Tails experience the hero worship he gave to Sonic in his youth, impressed upon him by his own sibling in Fidget. And given how compassionate and logical he thinks, unlike Sonic who wants to be "cool", Tails gives a more humble attitude in his dynamic towards his sister. He's grateful for the praise that Fidget gives, due to her precocious personality and seeing Tails' strength in his brains instead of brute strength. The name is also a clever reference to the ultimate ace, and it would not come as a surprise that Fidget shares her older brother's knack for aviation, both in piloting and even mechanics when necessary. Seeing her wearing shoes and gloves akin to the younger Tails would not come as a surprise if they were hand-me-downs, her own brother's special shoes (which would not deteriorate, unlike OUR shoes). Although the circular design comes off as more personal, albeit with Tails' fashion inspiration. Tails looks as though he's about to pick up his little sister and give her a big hug for her vote of confidence in his abilities. It makes the thought of having little sisters like Fidget so wonderful, and Tails is lucky to have such family in this beautiful creation of yours, Crispy.

After all the nonsense and drama that came out of the comics, this one just says "Screw it all! We got fan-works!" and Crispy's art here is far better than the "canon" content that's been released, along with many other fan-works that depict what the fans enjoy in Tails.

Love this idea! I might talk to my partner in a mega crossover about doing a character based on this idea in our Sonic verse. While it's primarily comics/AM based, we are planning on adapting characters from various other parts of the franchise as well as various concepts we like (such as the Great Migration, an event where a majority of Anti-Mobius citizens escape to Mobius and live there, many of them [including a reformed Miles] coming to find Mobius to be home) so a younger Prower child or two might just fit in. Would you mind terribly being a reference if she says yes?

Use Erika as an inspiration. Though it would be a honor if Crispy gave permission to use Erika, I have a feeling my friend would prefer to design our younger sibling for Tails either on her own or in partnership with me. I just love the concept of Tails having a younger sibling idolizing him like he's always idolized Sonic.
I might also use this picture and others like it by Crispy as a drawing reference (I love anthros!) until I get comfortable enough with my own drawing skill to develop my own style but no copying or tracing from me, no sir!

maybe because tails is almost the only character from the sonic fandom who is unnaturally 'Deformed' [two tails] so their parents wanted to prevent something like that from happening again....

That makes no sense. Its a genetic mutation in a world of genetic mutations. If its not a second pair of arms, a new pair of tits or an anus on his forehead I dont think it matters. Plus the Prowers never struck me as that picky.

well i just stated my point of view, no matter how much the sonic characters [mobians] may have differences with their natural animal counterparts [like unnatural colors or body patterns] there isn't another character that would have an unnatural grown out body-section. ive never seen another character with, as you said, a second pair of arms, legs or heck even tits or ears or even eyes. i like to imagine that maybe for these sort of kids that are born with an unnatural body section, if not unnatural for us, seeing as they are fictional characters, then unnatural for the mobians for being 'different' then the other people of the same species in their world, may have had less chances of living after birth, but tails could have been lucky since a tail isn't much of a necessary body section.
but still its just me thinking, i never said what i thought is canon or something.

Given that Tails came from a Japanese mind would highly suggest that he's akin to kitsune of Japanese folklore, and his extra tail is a subtle hinting at his hidden potential. He's got a wizardly relative in Uncle Merlin Prower, plus there was that scowling mention by his evil counterpart Miles that he disregarded his ability to learn greater powers in favour of following Sonic. All that brings up a sensible likelihood that Tails is far more powerful than he knows, and his two tails are a mark of that hidden potential.

Well I never owned a console so I really have no nostalgic value for it, but from a purely fictional point of view the series and the comics had some really good ideas that just got tossed on the side.

funny thing ive never had any game console in my life either, my dad got me an xbox not too long ago and just recently...
i used to be a fan of sonic as a kid from the sonic-x series, and some of the old sega genesis/pixel, games, but i never really understood the stories much, i donno....
