Friend Horse: "The universe provides!"

Friend Bear: "It looks deserted."

Friend Horse: "Must've been a politician in my previous life..."

Friend Bear: "At least we'll be out of the sun. Think you can climb up?"

Friend Horse: "Kinda hard with hooves, I wish I had your claws. Wish I had something to drink, too. If only we hadn't ditched our packs..."

Friend Bear: "In our defense, we were trying not to get killed by a mountain lion. Maybe we should try that thing I suggested earlier."

Friend Horse: "I wouldn't touch a Sonoran cactus with somebody else's 20 foot pole."

Friend Bear: "But cactuses contain water, don't they?"

Friend Horse: "Cacti. And you're thinking of a Barrel Cactus. The only thing a Sonoran contains is pure unfiltered enmity. Have you ever touched one? It's like they launch those needles. I hate them and they were dredged from the depths of Hell to punish mankind."

Friend Bear: "Good thing you're a horse."

If you were a benevolent star god who wanted to create the future foster parents of a new race of colourful anthropomorphic animals whom would be tasked with teaching humans how to humanity, what sort of life would you plan ahead for them?

... It's a weird question, take your time. I think one good way to have them learn more about the people and the planet they'll be guiding and guarding in the future would be to have them go on a little walkabout. Or a big one. very big. Actually, in my headcannon, I've got these guys wandering around for, what, close to two decades? They're Baby Boomers and they don't reach the Kingdom of Caring until the 80s, should be more than enough time grow up, get at least a high school education, leave home, then travel the length and breadth of the U.S.A. and perhaps even beyond! Why else would they own a sailing ship?

Think of the stories they'll have! Shaking hands with every type of person from every walk of life, camping in every forest, swimming in every stream, leaving no dirt country road or city sidewalk untrodden, no wildlife unseen, no desert-- uh, hopelessly lost in... oh dear.
