Why do these guys have glowing green eyes? Are they zombies or something?

I figured that much. But having a cast of characters that all have glowing acid-green eyes generally indicates either zombies, a hive mind, or poor character design; I was hoping it's not that last one. >>

That's a tautology, not an explanation.

My point is that I reject the logic that "Their eyes are green and glowy, therefore they must be zombies, etc." Maybe Scoot just wanted to make them green and glowy. Or maybe there is an explanation embedded in the story. Or maybe he's simply paying tribute to the unintended consequences of utilizing night-vision technology when we first filmed the movies that the animation is based on. But what do I know? -_0
