Kira did not kill L; L's death was the work of Rem who was protecting Misa, knowing that Misa and her beloved "Kira" would be dead if L was not stopped. In return, Rem died for changing Misa's lifespan as she'd live longer without the prosecution from L. Thus your argument is invalid.
