Description
The Meta Probe, from the opening episode of Space: 1999. The ship never got to even leave Earth orbit before being destroyed by the catastrophe that starts the series. Here she's been beautifully re-imagined by Greywolf-Starkiller. The model is available for download: fav.me/d55pbry .Consider this image what-might-have-been: The MetaProbe falling through the Jovian moon system, past Europa and Ganymede, on its way to a very close fly-by of Jupiter itself, to accelerate it on its way to the mysterious planet Meta.

I tried to watch the entire run of "Space: 1999" a few months back, and I only managed to get less than half-way through Season One before I gave it up: the cheesy plots, the terrible dialogue, and the wooden acting just prevented me from enjoying the show now as an adult even a fraction as much as I loved it as a kid back in the late '70's. I suspect the production crew were either high when they were making the show, or they were targeting it towards an audience that was.
