Description In 1919 an anyomous locomotive designer had a grudge towards Sir Nigel Gresley and made his spy steal his plans at Doncaster Works. However, the spy blundered the mission and stole the wrong drawings. The drawings were for an expiremental engine rather than the new pacifics that Gresley was designing at the time. The theif realised his mistake but by that time, 'Henry' was being built with many flaws and a superfical likeness to Gresley's pacifics.

In 1922, Sir Topham Hatt I was in desperate need of a locomotive for his railway. He was interested in purchasing a Robinsin 'Atlantic' but was tricked into buying Henry by the theif, much to Sir Topham's annoynce, Sir Topham Hatt I had no choice but to keep him in the end. But it wasn't until 1935 when things began to change for the better for the green tender engine.

NWR No.3 'Henry' is seen here at the yards near the big station in his original shape.

Wow! Talk about a dark backstory in terms of Henry's creation.
