Description
This is a supplement to my journal about my least favorite Community episode, (Which you can read here: www.deviantart.com/thomperfan/… ) and is partly inspired by two YouTube comments that sum up what I’m about to talk about perfectly.I’ve seen people compare the Greendale Seven in Competitive Ecology to the main characters of shows like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Seinfeld (Two sitcoms I’ve recently started watching), and while I definitely do see the parallels, I don’t think that’s a good comparison, at all. Do you know why? Because the Greendale Seven are NOT the same as the other two. It was made clear from the get-go that the main casts of IASIP and SF were stagnant characters who were SUPPOSED to be as unlikable as possible. Community, on the other hand, gave us seven characters that each had their share of negative traits but were still decent human beings that were learning how to better themselves with the help of each other. That’s what made them such a lovable cast, they were all a little crazy, but they were also friendly, rootable, and able to learn lessons. Not like the other two, at all.
