how do you change the default vista start button??? is there a program you need? which program should i get?

open C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles with a resource editor , the start button is somewhere in the IMAGE section. Make sure you back up the original aero.msstyles first.
Or alternatively you could pay for Vista Style Builder [link] or WindowBlinds+Skinstudio [link] both of which make life much easier. Use only one of them though.
