Bah, it's as though hoarder dragons don't know about fabric.
That said, would hoarding dragons hoard because things are shiny, or because they know that they're expensive and worth a lot? If the former is true, the hoarding mentality makes sense; if the latter is true, they're smart enough to understand the value of precious metals and stones, but not of certain fabrics. I'm pretty sure at least one egotistical human of power has made a bed out of gold before.
