These are awesome. The top one actually looks a ton like the guy who played Mr. T on stage when Angela Lansbury portrayed Mrs. L. I think he was an even better Sweeney Todd than Depp, just not half so hot.

So great. So amazingly great. I went to the Thursday night midnight show, and have been an obsessive fan of the musical for quite a while. So, I was worried about what Burton would do with it...but the scene he chose to insert his particular style was perfect. And everything else.....egad! So great!
The only complaint I have is that Timothy Spall is creeeeeeeepy in the one scene that he sings in. So creepy. Not how I pictured the Beadle or am used to seeing him presented as. But it's Timothy Spall, and he does creepy well.
Oh man. I could go on and on about this thing, but I don't really want to spoil it in case some people that view this haven't seen it. And if you're one of those people - GO SEE IT!!! It's AMAZING!

I haven't seen the play but I want to. I've actually wanted to see it since they did that little bit of it in Jersey Girl for the school talent show. I lol'ed XD
Timothy Spall is just..awesome at being gross and creepy. I thought he was perfect XD But again, I haven't seen the play so I didn't already have anything built up in my mind.

OMG. You got to see Sweeney Todd? *spaz*
Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp both together in one movie made me want to just...explode. I am definitely going.
I just have a question. Since the movie is rated R, is there any sex in it, or is it just R for violence? THIS IS A COMPLETELY INNOCENT QUESTION. While I don't mind Alan Rickman sex scenes, or Johnny Depp sex scenes, I do need some preperation, you know.
Since I havn't seen the movie yet, I can't really judge the sketches, as far as their aspect of character, but I do love the lighting and poses thus far. You're getting me so excited to see this movie!

Its okay I think its a totally legitimate question. I personally don't like movies that have overt sex scenes in them because I feel they detract, but then again I'm from the school of implied sex scenes, like the Maltese Falcon where the woman is there at night and is still there in the morning so its "assumed" XD
To answer your question, no, there's no sex in it at all. Its rated R completely for the violence, which admittedly even though it was a Burton movie and hence isn't typically as gorey as say, Pan's Labyrinth, was still slightly shocking. So prepare yourself for that at least!

Hahaha, great.
Well, my main concern is that my grandmother wanted to see it with me, and I don't mind taking her, but taking her to a movie where there is crazy sex explosion on the screen will be...awkward. lol

Ooooh I don't blame you. That always happens with me and my dad is that he'll take me to a movie and theres always some huge blatant sex scene in it D: Whats weird is hes like "you're a kid, I need to take you to see American Pie because you're a kid and thats what you like" and then he always makes that band camp joke...I'm always so mortified! D:

Exactly!
Either that, or I get, "You're a kid, you shouldn't be watching this. This is what made you draw all those naked animals, isn't it?"
"...well, I suppose it contributed, yes..."
lol

I saw it today, too, but not a special screening. :[ The costuming in the movie was so excellent...when it comes out I'll be pausing it constantly just to draw the clothes. 8D
My favorite of the doodles up there is the kneeling one. c:

Ah I didn't know it was out yet! THe previews kept saying Christmas so I assumed it would be like, christmas eve or christmas day, not christmas weekend, although that does make sense.
And YES! the clothes..omg..the clothes
