Thor is actually a Norse God and a mythical creature. This character and biography has nothing to do with the Marvel impostor

But yeah, Marvel has a character called Thor.

I didn't know the Norse believed in assassins. I would assume a warrior society would be more direct in their wishes to kill eachother. And I would consider the marvel character known as Thor to be more of an homage than and imposter. But considering the name of your character, I could see why that would upset you.

Ok on the character it can all be explained by reading his bio - [link]

His name as a mortal was Mikel and he was a warrior/warrior chief for his village. There is a plot by Lokie (Spelled with an 'E' for the purposes of my story)and he tricks Thor into taking Mikel to Asgard after saving him and his love from the serpent. One he gets to Asgard and in Valhalla he had no name and when the Gods referred to him in conversation they called him 'The Apprentice'. It's only after serving Thor for centuries and then him being banished to Midgard when he called himself 'Thor's Assassin'. When he reached Midgard he was asked his name and since he was always sent on missions by his master Thor to kill or defeat minions of evil, he mentions in a sentence that he is Thor's Assassin. Meaning the right hand of Thor. The name sticks after that.

It's a play on words as well because after Lokies plan comes to fruition, he kills Thor and only then realizes that he had been tricked and for his punishment is banned to Hel where he calls himself the 'Assassin of Thor'.

The character goes from good to evil to chaotic Neutral throughout his lifespan.

I was just playing when I called the Marvel Thor an impostor is all. It didn't upset me at all. I jokingly refer to him as the impostor because The Mythical Thor, God of Thunder has been in the worlds conscious forever now.

Hopefully that explains it a bit more.

For the purposes of my story, the Gods soul is sent on to either Valhalla, bound to the halls. Or the soul is sent to one of the Underworlds Muspelheim or Hel.
