In the duration of the Omnic Crisis via was a rookie along with other back in Ireland. Part of the Homeland Defence Corp she along with others fought in the mainland taking down any and all Omnic that encroached into range.

Via was a scientist for the military Although she was bright minded she was also trained as a soldier and often reminded those who thought her transition into medical research was cowardice to her military background.

toward the end of Overwatch, she was Originally stationed Galway Ireland's Home Defense Headquarters she was briefly transferred to Swiss Headquarters to aid in research for alternative medicine being developed for on-field recovery for soldiers and civilian caught in hot zones.

Post-Omnic Crisis

During the clash of Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes Via quickly worked with other first responder personnel to evacuate those who could not fight and civilian workers. in the midst of crashing debris and rogue fire, Via chose to save a life than worry for her own and quickly shoved a fellow first responder, pinned under heavy scaffolding via was covered completely. Presumed a casualty because she wasn't found among the head count, she was later found in the recovery attempt hours later.
Though found permanent damage was already inflicted on her legs reducing their usage down to thirty percent. unable to walk without support structures such as crutches or a wheelchair Via's pride was damaged and so was her credibility as a first responder. without the usage of her legs, she could no longer race to the rescue to those who needed aid.

Time passed and Via vanished from records, as simply gone. Years passed as she retreated back to Ireland, at her family's estate she worked tirelessly in her personal lab developing tech time after time. initially developing nanomachines that were programmed to repair the damaged tissue she quickly found that wasn't the only things the nanobots did. they allowed her to remotely access usage of machines within close range bypassing their interface with ease.

Still unable to walk she continues to invent and devise machines to remedy the affliction that plagues her. Eventually creating the Sparrow project she invented an anti-gravity system built into two small machines anchored to the host body. at first, attempts failed till she interfaced the nanomachines to the operating system of the Sparrow machines. finding out quickly Via discovered that linking up fully gave much more than Anti-gravity capability but flight, continuing to tinker and work with the machines she made a headset and frictionless suit to work with the machine. Having the flight suit vacuumed against her body and the curvaceous design of the sparrows casing and headset made her completely aerodynamic allowing high-speed flight.
picking up her original fusion rifle, though unorthodox, via was known to engage enemy fire when not aiding in the recovery of wounded or on a mission accompanied by teammates. she took up her role as the "SilentSparrow", zipping from place to place like a blur she gave cover fire and aid to those who need it and become a silhouette feared by those who felt the sting of her wrath.
