OMG. I do this so much... ;_; I think of something really clever or funny, or think of a really heart-tugging monologue or something, so I write all these random, specific scenes first so I don't forget them... Then I have to actually connect them with the legit story... xD it can definitely be a pain.

I always do that from now on. Better than just writing the story from my head and think I'll get to the certain bit I think of or think I'll remember the rest for later (because of that I have a lot of unfinished stories I've forgotten where they were going).

I have this one South Park fan fiction that I only wrote half of the first chapter to....and I have scenes from everywhere but the beginning in my head....and written down xDDD

(BTW, do you know what "desu" means? I've finally got "kawaii" figured out, but I still don't know that one... I sort of use it like "thank you", because it rhymes! But That also makes me feel retarded... Because I'm not only using the word "desu", but I'm also using it in complete ignorance of its actual definition.

Yep, I write chronologically, from start to finish. ^^
But if I have an idea for a completely different part in the story, I add them to my separate brainstorming cliff-notes that has the basic plot and stuff already mapped out, and then try to tie my story into that idea as I'm writing it.
From what I see here, you seem to use the story in progress as your brainstorming page. Then you try to do a bunch of editing to everything so it all ties together.

Yeah. And I'm often best at what I like to call "incidental comedy"; funny dialogue more than funny situations. So a lot of my "ideas" are born already in dialogue form, so I write it down as such.

Ohhh I get it, that makes sense.
Most of the dialogue in my stories are improvised while I'm channeling the characters. So yeah, I think I specialize more in situational comedy, though I do have a fair share of incidental comedy thrown in for good measure. ^_~
