(I forgot to say: I really like the pose and the hands because they look very gentle and because they remind me of mimes, and I happen to really like mimes even though a lot of people don't, and I like the softish look of things, especially the eyelids: so fragile, so delicate. It makes me happy in the quiet way.)
(I guess my descriptive powers heard that other, somewhat lamer, comment getting posted and woke up.)

Helllo. Did you know this lovely picture was featured in an article (which apparently was featuring children's artists/illustrators, but I think your pictures would be brilliant in a kid picture book anyway, so that's cool).
My descriptive abilities went to bed about an hour and a half ago, but even without them I can still opine that this picture is pretty, and I think also calming.

did you know that you:
are becoming one of my favourite:
persons?
..
not because of the kudos:

write?
..
you are so beyond jane:
it's not even funny.

It's interesting, and possibly a bit strange, that you would say that, for you see I actually talk like I write, at least sometimes. It has definitely been known to happen. The main difference is that in conversation, I often communicate like a preverbal three-year-old when my parts of speech go to bed and I am yet awake. I make funny noises. Sometimes my one true boy actually says 'use your words' when I'm wanting a nip off his beverage, which I've heard one of his cousins say to her little preverbal more-or-less three year old. oh my. (and, tangentially, I've been saying 'oh my' a lot lately. I wish I could swear less, but the 'oh my' helps somewhat. Eventually, I hope to say 'swears' in place of the little 'well damn' of being foiled in a mild way, 'curses' in place of the medium and less vehement swears, and a nice shouted 'expletive!' in place of stubbing my toe or true and swear-worthy frustration.) I've lost my thread, so I'll stop typing now. Good night.

more admiration..
Im suprised that you only have so few page views.
thing is, whereas stuff in my gallery, even if its interesting, the thumbnails are usually very unstriking,
but even your thumbnails scream to be seen.
Its the kind of thing that I see a lot of people take to
even if they dont have a good explaination as to why...
the feel in this piece, the intensive graphic quality, again the color.
Im wondering what you used to achieve your piece,
it has a sort of pastel feel to it.
Brilliant.

oh, wait..
i did not use open canvas on this...
i simply made a sketch and used photo shop
with patterns (some borrowed some i made).
(using pattern paint brush tool)
and then just painted here and there
..
i make tons of layers
dark ones, light ones
etc.

hi!...
..
thank you for this
wonderful comment..
..
sorry AND glad that i just found
the comment...
..
i drew a simple sketch
and then re- drew it
and colored it using
open canvas 3
(at the time)
you can download free trials
of this wonderful program
at portalgraphics.net
and then when the
trial period is up..
i just take huge screenshots
of the pic
and incorporate it into
ps or painter ...
even if the screenshots are lowres..
sometimes the washy paint
tools in open canvas
are too cool even at low res!
..
if i am wrong on the link
just check back in
with me..
now they have a free
trial of open canvas 4
and buying it is like 79 bucks USD
..
but they are in Japan...
and i was never sure on how to make the currency
/exchange/transaction....
..
i aim to buy it soon...
..
