A smaller Shuck than the Giant Shuck, the Common Shuck is the second-largest of the Shucks, while still a mighty Shuck in its own right. Shuck.

Now that I have thrown the word "Shuck" into a single sentence five times, robbing it of all meaning, I can talk about the animal. Common Shucks are (as the name implies) a far more common and regular predator than their Iguana-hunting relatives. While their larger cousins are fully terrestrial, Common Shucks are somewhat arboreal, using their long tail to help grasp branches. It is not a true prehensile tail like an Opossum or a spider monkey, but it acts as a bit of a lifeline when climbing, wrapping around branches and vines to anchor the animal should it slip. The Common Shuck is the main predator of pretty much most of the Caribbean animals that will follow it, and will devour something as small as a squirrel or as large as a Seb-Seb with equal gusto.
