I've been trying the same with my 200mm a long time, btu the results are too far out. Even with a shiny Nikkor f2.8 lens the crop never does it justice.

Our breeding pair is now feeding their newly hatched babies. The nest is right outside my bedroom window, located in the curve of the downspout for our gutter system. The parents were flying all about me as I mowed our acreage these past few days. Thanks for such a lovely photo! I hope to get some of the babies we have once their heads pop above the edge of the nest.

Aww, I love it! Barn Swallows are a favorite of mine anyway, and rumpled babies of any kind are just plain cuteness, so when you combine them... utterly adorable.
