The mating season of the Yellow Mongoose (Red Meerkat) is between July and September, and it gives birth underground between October and December.
Guess they couldn't wait....

I just have to comment on this wonderful shot, and anybody who may be offended by it. Porn is described as anything that arouses "prurient interest" (meaning that it turns somebody on). I don't think there are very many people who would get sexually excited over this scene, and if they do, they have a serious problem. I think that children who see animals mating get a healthier example of sexuality than many of the things they'll see in the movies.
In reply to the person who stated that it is prejudicial to show animals mating when adults having sex are censored, I think that it is more offensive and prejudicial to show native women bare breasted on TV during a time zone when children are awake, yet censoring programs that show white women in partial nudity.

Animals have sex in public. They are not ashamed of it and I don't think they should. It's called nature and to my opinion it's good for children to see what nature means. It's just normal. Only problem might be embarrassed parents, not daring to explain what's happening. Really I just can't see no harm in animals doing what their nature tells them to do.
