Description
This one was brought to me this morning by our youngh cat, he caught it for me.The snake pretended to be dead so realistically that even the cat believed him....
So i grabbed him, but -surprise- he was still very much alive. So I took some photos and brought it to a safer place, far away from this dangerous little cat!

Just spent the last hour practically studying your entire gallery, which I might add, is one of the most amazing I've seen on DA. This one caught my eye, and I liked your story for it. It's such a nice and unique shot, even if it was a semi-controlled situation after the kitty-attack. All of your photos are so stunning! You are VERY talented with a camera. ^_^

Well thanks God the cat (or you!) wasn't bitten by the snake! What if it was venomous? I'd never touch a snake!

Absolutely awesome capture - isn't nature grand, what went on between your cat and the snake is amazing...I used to have to catch the most venomous snakes in the world as a part of a job I had , so I have a soft spot for them...you caught this one so incredibly perfectly...

It's really good to hear this shot is appreciated. Because it was a pretty......eeehm.... 'uncommon' situation to me(unlike you i had never seen a snake in freedom before- jealous of your former job ) I like this photo a lot..so tnx!

Well, actually he pretended he was dead. I chased away the cat and the snake miraclously (?) 'relived'....

Hehehe....maybe....I assumed he wasn't poisonous, beacause poisonous snakes are pretty rare where I live...

you can also tell by the shape of their head,
when its round and curved they are ok..
the more pointed, spiky, "triangle like" the head gets.. the more poisonous it is

Thanks for this info, I'll absolutely keep it in mind the next time I'm gonna touch a snake...

This dude isn't poisonous. I used to catch them all the time by my grandma's house. Most likely A: A rat snake, or B: a garter snake. And MadTracker's right about the head shape. Poisonous/venomous snakes tend to have more cat-like eyes as well. This guy's pretty harmless, so long as you're not a cricket. ^-^
