Divine Blood is inspired by a broad spectrum of popular culture, some more obvious than others, but the setting as whole and the characters within it are mine.

Divine Blood as a setting encompasses a wide range of playable character types. It is entirely possible to start play as an average human being. Well, no matter what you make, you're going to have a character that is at the very least stand-out if not out-right exceptional. However, your character doesn't have to have any direct connection to any of the more crisis prone situations in the world. You could have a basic teenager, going to high school or starting college, care free and happy. Of course, most likely by the end of the first adventure, your character will have encountered something strange that will put them into the Second World, or even the Walled World or Ragged World depending on the seriousness of the campaign.

In any case, one piece of the world setting is that there are a large number of non-humans and psychics that are living more or less normal lives. So living a sheltered civilian existence is not limited to normal humans. Perhaps you'll want to play something not-human or someone psychic. Some of these non-humans might not even realize what they are. Vampyr, for example, are born to humans, pass as humans with a small list of medical oddities and often die of old age without realizing what they are. Of course there are also races which are born looking human and only develop into nonhumans around puberty. If they were adopted, then this might turn out to be an extra surprise on top of normal teenage developments. Then you have the psychics that develop outside the established Community, people that have no idea and little control over their developing powers. The common, admittedly rude, term for such people is "akira".

Of course, while the huge majority of the Community is humans with either psychic training, a talent that runs in families, or races that easily pass as non-humans; there are minor races that have no skill with shapeshifting or illusion and thus can't fit in at all. Ravens, for example, exist in small communities around the world, taking correspondence classes and generally only interacting with outsiders through other Community members. Likewise, the chiang-shih also avoid direct human contact while making a living on human society, and gargoyles themselves have their own extradimensional cities, the entrances too which are hidden in the wildernesses around the world. Also, some races thought to be extinct are making a comeback due to recent discoveries of colonies from the cosmology, extradimensional space, orbiting Earth.

If the campaign is going to be more involved in the dark and dangerous parts of the world such as Eastern Europe, occupied India, the Burmese Empire, Brazil as controlled by the Thule Society, and any of the old seals and hidden places left behind by the Gods, Demons and past sorcerers to be forgotten or lost; well then someone more professionally trained to handle trouble is necessary. This is where you start to get your spies and warriors, whether their skills are in the realm of direct physical confrontation, the manipulation of psychic energies are a combination of the two. This is where you start getting the "bad-asses" of the world. Psyche, Avalon, Socrates Group, Youxia, world militaries, spooks, the sorcerer families and more.

On top of all that you have the other two major powers of the world, the Gods and the Demons. Choosing to be a God or Demon still leaves you with the other choices. Are you a newly reincarnated Immortal working your way back toward majority and only have a fraction of your true power and memories? Or maybe your a civilian God or Demon that has never entered into the old myths because you've never been a soldier or a spy or a scientist or anything noteworthy before. Maybe you're only very young, less than a hundred years old and having never yet lived a second childhood. Or you might belong to one of the Immortal organizations: the Eyes of Ra or the Shadows, cops and spies to the Immortals; the Einherjar or Rakshasha, the soldiers; the Faustians or Heralds, who most often deal with mortals; the Abyssal Guardians or Tartarus Sentinels, who keep the criminals of the Gods and Demons locked away; or Elysium Providers and Gehenna Complex, who serve as the doctors and healers of the Immortal races.

For this character, we're going to go with a high power-level with some of the more complex options available. The reason for this is to highlight some of those options. Now looking at all the options available, the one that appeals most at the moment is Psyche secretary. Assuming you haven't read on the Psyche organizations yet, you probably don't know that in Psyche secretaries are required to be combat trained psychics that act as bodyguards to the directors. Then there's the secretarial pool, which consists of people that might one day be tapped as Secretaries and also do many of the more....sensitive assignments of the organization. Things the organization wants done rather than requests from clients. The Psyche secretarial pool is the Community equivalent to the FBI and CIA rolled into one, basically.

Though her name is not on this page, we'll go ahead and name her Loren Mutabah. For now, let's let her enjoy the sexy bombshell appearance before we move on to what she really looks like.
