Still practicing and whatnot. I don't really like this, but Fiona is popular so I thought I'd better share
Bad proportions and horrible hands, bland shading.
getting better with the path tool though. Her hair was fun. It doesn't really look like hair, but it was fun

Yeah you are getting good with the path tool
The lines don't look as thick in this pic.
Depending on what sort of shading you want to do, you still might want to push your dark values a little more.

I totally agree, I got a bit "chicken" with my shading on this one. I'm hoping to be much bolder with my next piece.

We were all a little chicken at the beginning of my class about using dark values but my art professor always tells us: "Don't be afraid of the dark"
He says if it's that worrisome, make a copy, slap it on, and see how it looks XD

Thanks. Gimp is pretty similar to photoshop, but some of the tools have different names and different settings.
