Koneko was wandering around on her own away from the other children. Seeing some of them turn into the monsters they dressed up as terrified her, especially if one of them decided to turn on her... She could tell that the mask glued to her face was slowly merging with her, since her vision was starting to turn funny. The small nyulop was scared of what would happen. Would the mask ever come off? Would the other children ever go back to normal? She should never have taken a mask from that stranger. She shouldn't have let her curiosity get to her like that.
The grass behind Koneko rustled with the footfall of somebody approaching from behind. The nyulop quickly turned to see who it was, and found herself looking up at one of the adults towering (in her eyes) above her. Koneko backed away, fur bristling in fear, as she watched the adult nyulop lower herself and extend a paw in an amicable manner. The child tried to remember who this adult was. They seemed familiar... The setting sun's light glinted off of a coin on the adult's forehead, and the realization struck Koneko: This was Silver. She hadn't spoken to her, but she recognized her from the town and what she's heard other children say.
"I know this all might be frightening, but we're going to do everything we can to help, alright? Just trust me..." Silver said in a reassuring tone. Koneko took a few deep breaths to calm herself before cautiously approaching the adult, hoping this wouldn't be just another trick...
