Musical Inspiration
While Winslet Rose never raced, she gave birth to champions, both on and off the track. Though her sons were magnificient, it would be her daughters and granddaughters who would carry on the line, becoming Blue Hens and dams of some of the greatest racers the world would ever see. Rose lived the life of a queen for good reason, and made it to her 34th year without any major illnesses or injuries. Yet even the greatest must one day fall.
Thus, as the dusk rolled into night and the air turned cold on the eve of April Fool's Day, BCC's great monarch sank slowly onto the soft earth to settle into a gentle, restful pose and let loose her final breath.

Now you've gone and made me cry! I'm so grateful that I've had the privilege a few time to have this great mare grace our farm, and give us wonderful foals that have improved and strengthened our lines and business. She was a great mare, and forever will be one of the best. Rest in Peace Rose!
