My sister is in the Navy and is at an island on the other side of the world south on the Indian Ocean. its pretty desolate and kinda not a nice place to be--gets over 100 degree weather, no fresh produce, awful water, that sort of thing--not only does the US government pay little attention to the welfare of their veterans, they do not have enough regard for the ones in service. (Sorry fo rthe little rant >_<.
Where they are, they cannot call very often or email, so I write to her. And I also enjoy old fashioned hand written letters than email too, can't draw doodles in emails XD.

Um, wow.... well, at least that makes sense why you write to her. I bet she really enjoys your letters.

Its kinda embarrissing though. Back when she would be on her ship for months at a time (no phone calls until they docked maybe), i would write to her about 1 or 2x a week while I was in school. I drew stuff inside on the pages and on the envelope of each one too, and becasue of that, during mail-call, the postal dude would not even read the name on the envelope, just recognise the silly doodles of half naykid dudes and call out my sister's name. But what made it embarrssing was that her freinds and bunk mates would take her letter away and read the doodles on the back before she could, and she even let them look at the doodles inside, and after awhile, they all kept tabs on my current events (like my grad school crush and dumb stuff like that >.< ).
But I did not mind after awhile, as my sister told me that alot of the service people on the ship never got letters at all or even care packages, as if thier families forgot about them. And they seemed to like my doodles too. But its still kinda embarassing XD

WOW! That's actually really sad! I wish there was access to their addresses so that anyone could write to them! I've always wanted to have a penpal, and that just sounds like it would be a cool opportunity to not only make a friend, but keep someone who probably feels forgotten entertained. That's really funny that the mail guy already knows when there's a letter for your sister. I bet her friends always look forward to mail days! LOL!

If there's anyway that I could send letters, please send me a note! Thanks!
