Hello! thank you very much for your comments! I must let you know that I drew this manga (these pages more specifically) back in 2005, and today I do draw the nipples on men >///<
But it is true that some comicbook artists (male and femal) draw men without nipples. The mangaka Tetsuya Saruwatari does this much of the time, even on his colored works: [link]

As for an explanation, eehhmm...for myself, I didn't draw nipples on my dudes a few years back because I often forgot to add them (and still do forget to add things: nipples, distinctive sars, clothing...)Xb These days I often add the nips because when the chest muscles are flexing, the nips become distorted and that adds movement and mass to the mucles surface.
At other times the nipples can be disractracting because you want to have a smooth muscled chest and then adding the nipples kind of creates an unwanted focus (like a black bean in a rice bowl). If I reach that kind of obstacle, I still add the nipples, but very lightly to show it is present but not distract the eyes focus (unless that is intended).
I am not sure I answered your question, but it is an explanation of why I myself use to remove them in my drawings. I am sure other artists here on DA or anywhere else have thier own opinions/explanations too, but those are the reasons I have ^_^;;

wow lol thanks this does help i guess im just werid cuz without the nipples its a destraction to me, lol i guess the nipple topic is insteresting to me cuz u see weomon in manga with thoes things exposed like the worlds best prize but men...invisable plus to me nipples are very useful in pervy art and fun to play with lol thanks for the explanation helpped clear up the fog!!
