Description
Sometime ago I finished a larger model of a similar locomotive with more polygons, but after attempting to render the model I decided to use fewer polygons. Knowing that low poly locomotives tended to look quite cartoony I used the so-called Heylock/Tinkerbell locomotives as an inspiration, since I’ve always thought they looked like cartoons with their ungainly proportions. This is one of my first attempts at rendering and the first one I’ve satisfied with but hopefully not the lastThe locomotive I took inspiration from was the SJ (Statens Järnvägar) №4005, a 4-4-0T built for the 1067mm gauge. The proportions are unusual for this type of minimum gauge locomotive, but an absolute adherence to reality wasn’t my goal. The paintwork is based on SJ №1178 of the Nene Valley Railway with abnormally thick stripes and brass details.
