Spider-Man! Spider-Man!
Does whatever a spider can!
Spins a web, any size!
Catches thieves, just like flies!
Look out!
Here comes the Spider-Man!
That's right, I'm a Spidey nut

Thank you very much!! That's how it goes!! When I was growing up I *thought* those were the words (the one I did for you). There wasn't any Closed Caption for me to read the songs and dialog on TV.
Yay for being a Spidey nut!!!
Wasn't there a "something thru the night, he's out of the sight" blah blah blah?

That's the half of the song, here's the rest
Is he strong?, listen bud!
He's got radioactive blood!
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look over head!
Hey there!
There goes the Spider-Man!
In the chill of the night!
At the scene of a crime!
Like a stream of light!
He arrives just in time!
Spider-Man, Spider-Man!
Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!
Welcome him, he's ignored!
Action is his reward!
To him, life is a great big bang-up!
Whenever there's a hang-up!
You'll find the Spider-Man!
Boy that took me forever to remember XD

Pretty cool. You got the song down. I do have to mention, though, that the line in the last verse is more, "Wealth and fame, he's ignored!" than "Welcome him, he's ignored!" Sorry if I sound overbearing, I'm just as big a Spider-Man fan as you are.

Commented, and yes, I definitely knew he could do that. I even own the Grim Hunt TPB, so I can just read that sweet moment where he dodges a point-blank shotgun blast and Kraven's son screams that he's not "supposed" to be that fast. I think part of the reason he doesn't get as much credit for his abilities as some other heroes in the MU is that he generally tends to not take the spotlight in-universe unless the situation is that freaking dire and his skills are particularly suited for it and until recently he was an outcast even among his fellow superheroes.
Plus, he's the kind of guy who holds back a lot of what he can really do because he doesn't want to end up killing people when he cuts loose and his tendency to mask his fear and/or pain with comedic banter makes him seem clownish to the more serious heroes. It also doesn't help much that he's generally comic relief wallpaper in Marvel crossover events unless he's got a significant role in them (like revealing his secret identity in Civil War and later shifting to the anti-reg side when he saw what the pro-reg side was really doing to its prisoners). Even then, that's no guarantee, as Norman Osborn was "promoted" to Big Bad of the entire freaking Marvel Universe with Dark Reign and while it was touted as an opportunity for the more "respectable" heroes to realize what it was like being Spidey, Spidey himself didn't get to take the lead in stopping Osborn like he could have or should have since Osborn was his enemy before he was the rest of the heroes' problem. That was a tragically missed opportunity in my eyes.

It's just like I said, Don't underestimate Spidey. I posted this because I have been having alot of bad conversations theses past couple weeks and realized how many poeple think Spidey is crap in comparison to Wolverine or Anime'like Rock Lee or somthin.

Rock Lee and Spider-Man are both similar characters, not just in strength and speed, but also in that they were both from relatively disadvantaged backgrounds and both disrespected and underestimated by even their allies, and then there was that glorious moment where they cut loose and shut up all their doubters with what they could really do.
P.S. Wolverine will get his ass kicked by Spider-Man more often than not. He beats Spider-Man in terms of stamina and durability from his healing factor and adamantium skeleton, but Spider-Man is much faster and stronger than Wolverine and his webs are good for nonlethal ranged attacks. Outlasting Spider-Man would be the only way Wolverine could eke out a victory against him if neither held anything back, but since Marvel wants to promote Wolverine as the numero uno badass of the 'verse, Spidey will get hit with PIS to make him look better.

Now that I think about it spidey moving faster than computers or daredevils radar sense can track basically is just like naruto or lee being to fast for the sharingan. Do you mean the part in the what if where spidey blitzed ironman so well it was as if he was in several places at once?

ImpulsiveSpidercide In reply to segamarvel [2012-12-22 20:40:30 +0000 UTC]
Not quite on that level if I'm recalling right, but Iron Man was shown reacting with shock when Spider-Man dodged a point-blank Uni-Beam blast from his armor and asking, "How fast are you?!" Spider-Man's response was that even he didn't know anymore and maybe even faster than Stark's suit's computerized response time, the implication being that a fully unleashed Spider-Man would rip Tony out of his suit like it was so much tissue paper and so fast Tony wouldn't even see it coming. As for the "several places at once," I more easily recall seeing him move like that during his canon fight with the Kingpin when he confronted him in the prison for having his Aunt May shot. All the same, a Spider-Man that doesn't feel like holding back anymore is a very, very dangerous Spider-Man to fight against.

Funny that Spidey 2099 from edge of time was able to move fast enough to leave an afterimage for villains to waste their time on. I havent seen speed like that since Goku humiliated the ginyu force.

Ah, motherfucker. I was hoping it wasn't true. Then again, with this whole "Superior" nonsense, it only makes sense. Doc Ock really would think he could be a better Spider-Man than Peter.

Hell, yes. I bought that comic just to see for myself. Now I can happily look forward to the adventures of Peter Parker as he thwarts Doc Ock's attempts to subvert Spider-Man's good name in the name of being "superior." It's a little more literal than I'd originally thought, but Peter really is going to be a spidery Jiminy Cricket on Ock's shoulder. Huzzah.
