Being the tactician I always was (and still is), I chose Mudkip so I could have a double type advantage against the first Gym Leader.
That and I always had trouble with catching Water types. ALWAYS.
Considering Prof. Birch is in the (metaphorical) picture, Thwill's dad either is Birch's assistant or working partner... right?
