I'm absolutely in love with how this piece turned out, in some ways it is even better than how I've had it pictured in my mind.

If you like this pattern, I'll e-mail it to you in exchange for one of your favorite bead weaving patterns.

I really hope that everyone who views enjoys this piece as much as I do, and I'd like to say that I very much appreciate every fave and comment.

Oooooh! You're right, the red is STUNNING! I tell you, when I saw this, I had to immediately dig through my bead stash to see if I had the components to put together a red one like it. Sadly, I don't. T_T Guess I need to be on the lookout for red drop beads.
If you care for a critique, my only sugestion would be to use smaller seed beads. I love the way the fringe spreads over more of the necklace for a bolder statement and how you incorperated pearls, but I just feel like if you had used smaller seeds, it would have been a little less...wiggly. Know what I mean?

Thanks! I had this one in my thoughts for a long time before I was able to make it. The wonderful red drop beads in this came from Michaels in the strung section, from experience I have to say that drop beads are hard to find, especially in the area I live in. I appreciate critiques, so thank you. It actually wouldn't have been possible to use smaller seed beads because of the size of the pearls. Also, unfortunately, smaller seed beads are not an option for me as the generic craft stores here don't sell them any smaller except for the occasional crazy expensive tiny vial of toho. I hope to some day make it up to the closest bead store about 3 hours away in Colombus, Ohio.

Have you ever thought about ordering online? Artbeads.com has a great selection and if you get over $40, the shipping is free. Just organize any future projects you might have and it's easy to spend $40. My only problem with ordering online is matching colors. It's harder to do when you're just looking at a screen, but not impossible.

I have, and perhaps someday I will, I'll definately be looking at artbeads.com when I do. On the note of free shipping, I'd like to direct you to a site I recently came across after receiving a catalogue, its Prima Beads [link] they have free shipping within the United States (no minimum purchase).

Very beautiful beadwork. it must have been torture to measure it all out. I've done a few peices like this for gifts, but my attention span is too short to make things this intricate regularly. It reminds me of the traditional beaded necklaces in africa, but with a modern and elegant twist.

Not at all Really there's no measurements involved, just counting how many beads go on at a time, a little secret though, I had to take the draping part off twice because apparently I can't count or follow instructions Now that is torture, I despise having to re-do something

I agree, remaking/ redoing things over and over is TORTURE. That's why each of my pieces (except a few that I LOVE TO MAKE) are unique
