A faint hum filled the damp, night air that danced through the open window. A soft whimper left the small girl as she cowered under her pink floral blanket, "Monsters aren't real! Monsters aren't real!" A loud click filled the room, daring her too look out into her now dark bedroom; her butterfly night-light suddenly lost in the shadows. She looked to her door, gnawing on her lower lip as a low chuckle echoed around her, "W-Who is there?"

A pair of red eyes appeared in the corner of her room, closest to the window, "Oh no one my sweet child, no one at all. Just a simple nightmare, my dear sweet, Melissa."
