Description
I'm in the thick of preparing for Captivenia right now, with only a few more days before we start and still far too many costumes to sew! However, I just finished the last of the dresses for this year (24 in total!), and thought I'd take a quick break before heading back to the studio. As a fundraiser for a Captivenia I had a raffle at a Catholic Family Conference recently. The proceeds were perhaps a little disappointing but, alas, I must still make the promised dresses. This is one of the two that I made, nicknamed "Countess Philomena". Honestly, I think this is one of my favourite dresses so far (and I have made a lot). I wish I was selling it instead of giving it away for $20 worth of tickets.

What. The. Heck. I honestly never thought I'd get a DD. I was so confused when I logged on this morning! Thank you so much everyone for your comments and support! I'll try to respond to each of you.
And, since I know at least a few people have asked, I am open to do custom orders. The cost of each dress would vary of course, but would be somewhere between $150-200 CAD.

Thanks! Hm, it depends on the dress, really. For the dresses I have posted here on DA, I have to put in a good 6-8 hrs of work, at least.

Side note- is that an adjustable dressform you're using? It kind of looks like it with the strip in the middle, but it's a little hard to tell. I've recently started working with my first dressform and it's adjustable, and it hasn't caused me issues at the present, but since I'm a lot larger than the form, I have to adjust a lot, and I can see the problems forming already. Though, if yours is adjustable, mine seems to have been opened up with the width that appears to exist on yours. If yours IS adjustable, do you have issues with it?

Yes, it is adjustable. Picked it up cheap on Ebay. Had to build a new stand for it, but other than that it's been great! Don't know what I'd do without it... Named it Dorothy.
I know you can get them in different sizes; the one I have is one of the smaller ones. I've seen larger ones in some fabric stores.
