I dunno I think experience with sculpting can give you a better insight into construction when drawing stuff.

Don't think you should. We all started with a first step and were in the same situation as you So it is good as it is and you should continue, as soon you can apply your knowledge from sculpturing to an image with the right techniques it will blow us away, i'm sure about this. Keep going!

Totally get what your saying! I'm just not confident enough, or patient with colors. Sort of the whole reason as to why I wanted make a few digital projects and make a stab at slowing myself down to really get a feel for the values. I'm honestly a true hater of paints, as they tend to be too messy and go against my near obsessive desire to contain and control my artistic medium. So with a little time, and a crapnload more practice, I hope to be able to apply something from all of this....until then...I punish you all with THIS!!!! MWAHAHA!

It was the same for me: i was working nearly 20 years only with pen and paper, designing and sketching stuff, very used to it and having complete control.
Can be tricky to get into that colors and composition thingy, but after a while (and while getting the control there) it is great just to have an idea and directly 'pinning' it down. So it's just a matter of time, nothing else. And in the meanwhile keep 'punishing' ^^.

It's totally alien for me! I'll be the first to admit it, it's not high art...but boy was it fun!!
