Wasp, Janet Van Dyne, the only lady to change costumes often enough to have been said to never wear the same costume twice.

I know they were trying to show she was a fashion designer. But these days I like to claim that they were trying to find her an iconic "look" until they hit on this design.

Maybe, but I though it was iconic of the character that she didn't have a set uniform. I guess I'm just old school when it comes to things like that.

I thought that too for a time. But the black/gold costume just worked (clicked) for her. Sometimes when you find an iconic look, you just stay with it.
I suppose it's also a reflection that the current generation of artists haven't been able to come up with something visually appealing. I blame too many "easily offended" types to indulge anything other than a full body design.

Between modern artist lack of nerves and mass groups of people seeing her in it in a cartoon. the real first place the costume appeared.

Actually her black costume first appeared in comics. A close style in 1998 and then this one in The Avengers #71 (November 2003). But like Starfire, Raven and sadly your right Wasp, too many people think the cartoon versions were the original.

I was saying it is why they stuck with the costume. Too many people associated it with her. It was not popular with older fans like me who enjoyed her changes.

Considering I've been a fan of hers almost since the 70's, I'll let that pass.
There are some characters who do need new looks or costumes, for a variety of reasons. While it was a nice quirk for Janet, once you find an iconic look you should stick with it. But there are artists who are at least trying to live up to the old days - even if their failing miserably.

I was speaking for fans like myself, not all old time fans.
I understand the iconic look, but I doubt someone like her would leave everything the same all the time. Different gloves, boots, a slight change here and there.
Right now I left reading comics, because of the fact that neither Marvel, or DC, seem to know how to keep their stories straight. I am not one who likes a character having their long history one second and not the next. I have been a fan of many characters and hated what the company did to them. example Psylocke.

This was one of the better outfits for Wasp in the comics. I like the color combo and how she didn't wear anything on her head or over her face. You really made her look gorgeous and breath-taking. Nice touch with the wings construction and design to be durable. Her facial beauty is gorgeous and the shorter hairstyle looks good on her. Nice work with her curvy figure being sexy and very athletic. I like the gold accent tones and layout. Nice job giving her outfit a form-fitting appeal and durable, too.

I think the Wasp is the one super-hero with the most costumes over the years... I remember there was a poster of all the Avengers (until the time of the poster of course) and the border was the Wasp in her many.many different costumes...

Wasp is one of those characters that I never think of as being sexy (pretty much a product of the way she was being used in the comics when I first started reading) but whenever I see a good picture of her it really, really works.
