This is gorgeous.
I was directed here by a friend who wants me to make Timelord jewelry for her... probably a pendant. She likes your artwork.
What are your rules/etc for using your artwork in something else? I'd be doing it in polymer clay, and I would NOT be selling it on Etsy or whatever (unless you were okay with that too, but there are always issues with selling copyrighted things on Etsy... people do it anyway, of course)... but it's just something for a special request.
Thanks kindly.

Wow, lovely ! Can I ask what your restrictions of use on this image are please ? I make fandom jewellery & usually design my own but a customer has asked for this specific image made into earrings for her & I wanted to check with you first that this would be ok please ?

Hi, sorry this is the highest resolution i got, it was before i got used to work in vector. But maybe you could try to vectorise the image through a software, then easily enlarge it.
If you use this image, i would fancy a picture of your car

Will certainly get you a picture if we can get the image enlarged to a useable size

Dude, I'm in love with this. I've been looking for Time Lord symbols for a tattoo, so you wouldn't happen to have a high-res black & white version of this would you?

Sorry, i wasn't home lately. Glad you like it !
i'm going to search my (overly stuffed) computer for the original file and work on a B&W version of this illustration, give me some time, a few weeks tops.
You should keep an eye on my gallery, or even add me to get posted when it's done and online, or i might forgive to warn you

Oh!

i like both designs, but this one just a tad more because of the glow (yes, i'm shallow, the gold one was probably more work).

tibots In reply to greyfin [2008-06-11 13:53:19 +0000 UTC]
ha ha ! For sure, the gold one would be much more worthy, I assume it means you're not interested in money (to bad, cause your illustrations of Doctor Who are so "fantastic" that you deserve a lot of sucribtions )
(your other works are quite impressive too)

thank you kindly, sir!
not being interested in gaining money from my art is a luxury i can effort because i don't have to live off it. that doesn't mean i don't like my ego stroked like any other artist does
i really dig your wallpapers - very dramatic without being kitchy. also thanks for not using too many colours (that seems to be a current illness with photo manipulating fans). too bad i don't like the new BSG very much. otherwise i'd have already PM'ed you for a large version.

Thanks. It's right, I try not to resort too much on saturated colours. Not that I dislike this kind of fanarts, but that's not the way I want to manipulate my images. Although, I always increase the contrast of my creations, but not that much.
"otherwise i'd have already PM'ed you for a large version"
--> By the way, I'm a "freshman" here, and I don't really know what is the average resolution for wallpapers. I usualy create them in 1024x768px, but maybe I should make them bigger for deviantart users.
Maybe could you answer me on that...

greyfin In reply to tibots [2008-06-11 17:14:15 +0000 UTC]
me, too. it's not that i dislike strong colours, but everyone does it currently and it's nice to see that there are artists who work differently, too.
1024x768px will be a bit small for most users. most have around 1280 nowadays i guess. use 1600x1200 to be on the safe side.
but that doesn't count in the widescreen formats. maybe have a look at the wallpaper section. many people are putting their work together in wallpaper packs offering different resolutions.

tibots In reply to greyfin [2008-06-11 18:45:54 +0000 UTC]
Indeed, I feel exactly the same way, it's a nice effect to strengthen colors, but too many people does it like that. I'm ok with this, but in the end everything tend to look the same.
Ok then, I'm going to create bigger wallpapers. It's not always easy though, for exemple I couldn't have done my BSG wallpapers bigger, because even with a dvd quality image, it would have been less clean in a bigger resolution.
Thanks for all

sorry, wrong reply button:
there are resource websites out there specialised in offering high-res images (most of them just collect the official release stuff or scans). screengrabs will only get you so far ... or is BSG filmed in HDTV?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
tibots In reply to greyfin [2008-06-11 19:55:29 +0000 UTC]
You're right, there are such ressources for series, but mostly photographs taken from the set, just the actors and not the scenes including special effects in the case of science fiction shows (battles, spaceships...). You have to resort to caps from the episodes if you want to use such images.
As far as I know, BSG is not yet shot in high definition, it's HDTV on Sci Fi channel but not on the dvds, except for the HD-DVD relases which I don't have.
